Beyond Care Unfiltered: A Child Welfare Survivors Summit
Rarely do we talk about what happens after care.
This summit is a space for us to gather as child welfare survivors, reflect honestly, and name what it means to navigate the world after leaving a system that shaped so much of our lives.
Beyond Care Unfiltered is a full-day gathering created by and for child welfare survivors, focused on connection, collective reflection, and truth-telling. Through facilitated conversations, small group workshops, art-making, and shared meals, we’ll explore what life after care really looks like ,from transitional challenges to building resistance and joy beyond the system.
This space is hosted by the Collective of Child Welfare Survivors, a QTBIPOC survivor-led nonprofit rooted in community care, advocacy, and systems disruption.
What to Expect:
Opening circle, grounding, and group check-in
Facilitated group conversations on post-care experiences
Small group workshops exploring transitions, systemic harm, and building resistance

CWS Connects: April Group
CWS Connects is a monthly peer support group for child welfare survivors. It's a space to process, share, and connect through themed discussions, creative activities, and mutual care practices.
Each session is grounded in a different theme—like grief, relationships, family dynamics, joy, or cultural disconnection—and is designed to support personal reflection, emotional expression, and collective healing. The space is co-facilitated by survivors and guided by trauma-informed, anti-oppressive values.
Sessions are open to anyone with lived experience in the child welfare system. No professional background or formal diagnosis is required—just your story, your boundaries, and your presence.
Food, transit support, and materials are provided when in person.
